Yan Diomande will wait until after the World Cup to make a decision on his future, so says Ivory Coast coach Emerse Fae.

Diomande’s displays for RB Leipzig in 2025-26 saw him head into the World Cup having piqued the interest of some of Europe’s top clubs.

Liverpool and Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain are among those credited with an interest in the winger.

And the 19-year-old’s stock only rose as he turned in a superb performance in Ivory Coast’s 1-0 win over Ecuador on Sunday.

Diomande created five chances in the Group E contest. Only two Ivory Coast players have created more chances in a single World Cup match: Arthur Boka in 2010 against DPR Korea (six) and Didier Zokora against Serbia in 2006 (seven).

But Fae says any talk over Diomande’s next move will have to wait until after Ivory Coast’s campaign is over.

“When we were in France, during the preparation, journalists told me he was about to sign with PSG,” Fae said.

“Here, they tell me he’s about to sign with Liverpool!

“I don’t know, but for now, he will focus on the World Cup, and then afterwards, he can think about the rest of his career.

“He’s very talented, but beyond the talent, he’s very young and he’ll improve.

“He’s a kid who works hard, has a real team spirit, laughs with everyone, and he listens, listens to the technical staff whenever he’s given advice, and tries to do his best, as he’s told.

“It’s easy to work with someone like Yan, he’s so talented and has what is needed, plus he can give you the victory and was a real challenge for [Piero] Hincapie, a Champions League finalist.”

Diomande also attempted a game-high seven dribbles, completing four of them, while he also led the way for duels contested (15) and duels won (11) and touches in the opposition box (12).

He registered 22 goal involvements for Leipzig in 2025-26, scoring 13 times and providing a joint-team-high nine assists.

Among Bundesliga players in all competitions, only Michael Olise (140) completed more dribbles than Diomande (132) across the season.
