Lions club overhauls crumbling infrastructure at Karaole primary school

To systematically transition the institution from a state of structural decay to a modern learning environment, the club executed a coordinated series of civil and electrical engineering improvements, including:

1. Reconstruct Roof Systems and Internal Ceilings: Engineers stripped off old, damaged materials, replacing them with weather-resistant roofing sheets and new internal ceilings to prevent seasonal rain leakage.

2. Restore Grid Connectivity and Core Internal Ventilation: Technicians completely rewired the six-classroom block, reconnecting the classrooms to the power grid and installing ceiling fans to regulate heat.

3. Drill Borehole Line and Update Exterior Finishes: Contractors sank a deep-well borehole connected to a 1,200-litre tank, followed by extensive masonry repairs and fresh repainting across the school block.

Direct Capital Support and Alumni Mobilisation

The Service Chairperson of the club, Lion Adenekan Sheriff, revealed that the project carried an emotional connection for the organisation, noting that President Somefun is an alumnus of Karaole Primary School.

This personal connection helped mobilise resources from members and secure critical grant funding from the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF).

Receiving the keys to the new facility, the Head Teacher of Karaole Primary School, Adeyemi Sidikat, expressed profound gratitude on behalf of the faculty and students.

She emphasised that the intervention has given the historic public institution a new lease on life, ensuring that future generations of Ifako Ijaiye pupils can learn in an environment that protects their health and dignity.
