‘Learn the hard way’ – Seahawks fans issue warning to Chiefs after Kenneth Walker’s debut

The Kansas City Chiefs got off to a winning start against the Denver Broncos in what was certainly a statement win.

Kenneth Walker III made his debut for the Chiefs following his offseason move from the Seattle Seahawks.

It was a debut to remember for the running back, who ran for 173 yards and one rushing touchdown, which included a 60-yard run.

Allowing the Super Bowl MVP to walk just days after he played such a big part in helping Seattle lift the Lombardi is looking like a questionable choice from the outside looking in.

However, Seahawks fans have defended the decision following Monday night’s game between the Chiefs and the Denver Broncos.

Walker put on a show at Arrowhead on Monday night, with a further 18 yards and a receiving touchdown to his name.

However, Seahawks fans still believe general manager John Schneider made the correct decision to allow Walker to depart.

‘We’ll see what you have to say when he gets hurt like he always does. Think Seattle knows what they’re doing,’ one Seahawks fan responded on X after the game.

‘No, they decided to pay multiple players rather than one,’ added another.

Schneider has paid out some considerable contracts this offseason to the likes of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Devon Witherspoon, Derrick Hall and Leonard Williams.

Also paying Walker would have hamstrung the Seahawks in the future with players like Nick Emmanwori to consider in the upcoming years.

One fan warned the Chiefs of Walker’s injury history: ‘He’s out for the year by week 5 if they keep this up’.

‘Injury prone. Simple as that,’ said another.

Walker’s injury record saw the Seahawks manage his load alongside Zach Charbonnet, with fans warning the Chiefs of overusing the RB at this stage of the season.

‘He will wear down. KC will learn the hard way in a couple games from now,’ said one Seahawks fan.

‘He was always hurt. He will eventually get hurt,’ added another.
