LASU Introduces Mandatory Clearance for Final-Year Research Projects

The Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University (LASU), Professor Ibiyemi OLATUNJI-BELLO, mni, NPOM, has approved the recommendation of the University’s Research Ethics Committee, mandating ethical clearance for all final-year student research projects.

In accordance with the approval and with immediate effect:

  • No final-year student shall commence or submit a research project without prior ethical approval duly obtained from the University Research Ethics Committee.

  • This requirement is compulsory for all categories of students (full-time, part-time, and sandwich) without exception.

  • Provost, Deans, Directors, and Heads of Department must ensure that proof of ethical approval is verified and documented before accepting and grading any research project.

Finally, non-compliance with this directive will be viewed seriously, as undermining the University policy. The University remains committed to upholding the highest standards of research ethics, integrity, and global best practices.
