Lancashire all-rounder Morris set to retire

Lancashire all-rounder Fi Morris is set to retire at the end of the season after more than a decade in the county game.

Morris has spent the last four seasons with Lancashire and was part of the side that won the T20 County Cup and One-Day Cup last year.

The batter and off-spinner, 32, had previously been with Western Storm before switching to the Red Rose, for whom she has played 91 games.

“When I first joined Lancashire, I knew that this was where I wanted to spend the rest of my career, I knew that this was where I was going to retire,” she said.

“There’s a certain feeling about this club that just makes you feel part of a massive family and it’s a really special place to be.”

Morris is the latest player to announce her retirement after ex-England bowler Kate Cross said last week that she will also end her career at the end of the season.
