LaMelo Ball is already 'permeating' Timberwolves players, insider reveals

The LaMelo Ball effect is already sweeping through the Minnesota Timberwolves locker room, and his energy is clearly resonating. Following the blockbuster trade this offseason to acquire Ball, the Timberwolves boast one of the NBA’s most explosive backcourts, with the former Charlotte Hornets star teaming up with Anthony Edwards.

While Ball and Edwards are bound to bring fireworks on the court, the 28-year-old’s vibes seem to have come along for the ride with him from Charlotte. The Athletic’s Timberwolves insider Jon Krawczynski explained his impact during a recent episode of The Jon Krawczynski Show, highlighting that his energy is “permeating the rest of the team.”

“There’s just this vibrancy about him,” Krawczynski said. “There’s just this sort of energy within him that is permeating the rest of the team.”

Krawczynski explained that Ball has been an extreme positive for the Timberwolves thus far, even citing Jonathan Kuminga, who apparently said he’s never seen Ball mad since arriving in Minnesota.

After watching Ball, the No. 3 pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, for six seasons with the Hornets, this shouldn’t be much of a surprise. There was never any negative noise about Ball, whether in the locker room or on the court, and he seemed popular with teammates.

This is obviously good news for the Timberwolves, and it’ll be interesting to see how their new-look roster can mesh when the 2026 NBA regular season gets underway.
