The command disclosed that its officers recently participated in a five-day Election Security Management Training organised by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, NPTF.

The training, which held from Monday, October 26, to Friday, October 30, 2026, brought together predominantly personnel of the Lagos State Police Command, alongside officers from the FCID Annex Lagos, Zone 2 Headquarters, Special Fraud Unit, SFU, and Special Protection Unit, SPU.

The command’s spokesperson, Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday through the command’s official X handle.

According to the statement, the programme was designed to equip police personnel with the skills required for effective election security management.

It covered issues including professionalism, political neutrality, impartiality, respect for human rights, crowd management, cooperation among security agencies and compliance with the rule of law.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for his continued commitment to personnel development and professional policing.

He also acknowledged the Nigeria Police Trust Fund for providing the training opportunity.

The command said the exercise formed part of its efforts to improve operational preparedness and ensure adequate security before, during and after the 2027 general elections.

It reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, securing the electoral process and creating an environment where citizens can exercise their democratic rights peacefully and safely.
