Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, says President Bola Tinubu has turned every state in Nigeria into a construction site.
Umahi made the remark while faulting those criticizing the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway.
He spoke during the launch of repair works on Eko, Marine Bridge and flooded sections of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday.
The minister said: “Let anybody tell me any state that is not a construction site under President Tinubu. I am waiting for a debate on this. The debate is on why people attack the Coastal Highway.
“They don’t want the Niger Delta, where we drill the oil, to benefit from projects. They said it will not pass Epe but it has since passed Epe, in fact, Lot 1 has since been completed and Lot 2 is over 80 percent done.
“We are in Ondo, we have done over 30 percent of the job in Calabar and Akwa Ibom, we started the largest section, 180 km by 2 and another phase in Akwa Ibom, 360km.
“We are in Ogun section with 28km, Ondo 52km, with over 20 percent of the job already done. We are just left with Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, and Edo which is under procurement of 100km.
“I do not blame those that think that this is impossible because this President has been doing the impossible because he’s divine and God brought him.
“Just at my back is the Eko Atlantic, when I started as a young engineer in Lagos, nobody could pass through here, but with the audacity and the dream of one man, he tamed the Atlantic Ocean and restored VI.”
