Aleksandar Kolarov says Inter have nothing to prove to anybody but themselves.
Inter were disjointed against Bologna on Saturday, though the reigning Serie A champions nevertheless claimed a 3-1 win to bounce back from their Champions League defeat to Club Brugge.
Tommaso Pobega put Bologna ahead after 10 minutes, but Marcus Thuram equalised before half-time, with substitutes Carlos Augusto and Ange-Yoan Bonny on target in the second half.
Inter sit top of Serie A, two points clear of Roma, but Kolarov feels Cristian Chivu’s team must remember they do not need to prove their credentials.
“We don’t have anything to prove to anyone, other than to ourselves,” Kolarov told DAZN, as he stood in for Chivu.
“We want to be more intense, both on and off the ball. In the second half today, in Madrid, and in the first 50 minutes against Club Brugge, we were intense with the ball at our feet.

“That is not to be taken for granted, we’ve got to set the tempo starting from the defenders.
“It is true that we are having a few problems, but we are also aware of our capabilities and have the time to make up for those dropped points.
“We’ve had a few setbacks, but we know how strong we are. Our strength is the group and the quality we have in the squad.”
Inter have conceded the opening goal of the match more times than any other team in Serie A and the Champions League combined this season (six); they are followed by Parma, Torino, Fiorentina and Venezia (five each).
They take on Shakhtar Donetsk in their next Champions League fixtures.
