It’s officially crunch time in the NBA Finals with the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs returning to Frost Bank Center for Game 5 on Saturday night.

After a thrilling Game 4 where New York erased a 29-point deficit — the largest in NBA Finals history — to win on O.G. Anunoby’s last second tip-in, the Knicks are one win away from their first championship in 53 years. The Knicks pulled off the impossible in Game 4 behind Anunoby’s 33 and Jalen Brunson’s 36, and with one more win will deliver a title to a city starved for a championship.

But, the series is far from over, with the home team Spurs fully having the capacity to win three games in a row. This will be the toughest test yet for Mitch Johnson’s young team; it’s up to Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper and co. to get their first finals win at home and send the series back to New York.

So, what will happen on Saturday night: will the Knicks win the 2025-26 NBA title or will the Spurs live to see another day?

11:07 p.m.: Behind 10 straight points and 40 from Jalen Brunson, we have a tie game.

There’s less than five minutes remaining.

11:02 p.m.: The Knicks are within four with 5:30 remaining in the fourth quarter.

While Wembanyama just got called for his fourth foul, Johnson is challenging, and it’s looking like it will be successful.

10:56 p.m.: Brunson is keeping the Knicks in the game. With 34 points, the Knicks are within six.

He has more than half of the Knicks points.

10:52 p.m.: Now, the Spurs lead is back to 10, with Castle making the second free throw.

There’s 8:51 remaining.

10:47 p.m.: Shamet makes a fast three and the Knicks are down just six.

Though, Vassell cans a long-distance triple on the other end as the Spurs answer right back.

End of the third quarter: Spurs 72, Knicks 65

10:39 p.m.: Robinson tips in a Brunson miss with four seconds left, and we’re going to the fourth quarter in a close one.

San Antonio leads by seven but were up by as much as 15 in the quarter. Though, New York cut the lead in half.

It’s time for the fourth quarter, and expect anything the way this series is going.

10:38 p.m.: Brunson has 30 points with a minute left in the third, with two free throws putting the Knicks within single digits.

10:32 p.m.: The Knicks are in foul trouble, with both Towns and Anunoby having 4 fouls.

San Antonio leads by 14 as the fourth quarter approaches.

10:30 p.m.: Harper has 21 points as the Spurs take a 15-point lead.

Towns is still on the Knicks bench with 4 fouls.

10:25 p.m.: In a NBA Finals elimination game, it’s the rookie Harper leading the way for San Antonio.

He hits a three to put the Spurs up 12 and is up to 16.

10:20 p.m.: After Brunson nails a three then falls down, Vassell answers right back on the other end.

Brunson and Mike Brown are furious that it wasn’t called a foul. San Antonio is back up nine.

10:15 p.m.: Halfway through the third, San Antonio leads by five, with the Knicks cutting the lead in half.

Brunson leads all scorers with 22.

10:10 p.m.: The Spurs are back up double digits, with Champagnie hitting his fourth three of the game.

The Brooklyn native has been lethal from deep this series, hitting at least two threes in four out of five games.

10:07 p.m.: With the Spurs up four, Wembanyama cuts to the rim and dunks it, getting fouled by Robinson.

It’s being reviewed for a flagrant.

10:02 p.m.: The second half is about to begin in San Anonio, with the teams engaged in a rock fight.

Brunson had 16 points, leading the Knicks going 3-for-4 from deep. On the other side, Wembanyama has 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks.

Halftime: Spurs 42, Knicks 37

9:45 p.m.: Vassell gets a shot to go at the left elbow as time expires, and halftime, the Spurs lead for the second straight game.

After being down by as much as 16, New York has cut the lead to five. It’s been the lowest-scoring half this Finals.

9:41 p.m.: After Hart helps force a turnover on Kornet, he takes the ball all the way on the other end, puts up a circus shot while being fouled and it goes in.

The play is being reviewed for a flagrant.

9:35 p.m.: As we go to a commercial timeout, the Knicks have cut the lead to six. It’s now Bridges who makes a three, and New York is 7-for-16 from deep.

Castle will have two free throws out of the break after Towns picks up his third foul.

9:32 p.m.: Jalen Brunson is hot.

He has 16 of the Knicks’ 28 points, and a 10-2 New York run has cut the San Antonio lead to seven. But, Fox makes a three to get it back to 10.

9:30 p.m.: The Knicks are back within single digits, with Brunson hitting a three from the left.

It’s 33-24 San Antonio.

9:26 p.m.: For the second straight game, a Wembanyama foul is overruled, and it’s changed to an offensive foul on Towns.

The Knicks big man now has two.

9:22 p.m.: If you need any more proof that Wembanyama is an alien, he just proved it. He gets the ball deep, hesitates, then pulls a three over Towns and it’s in. 

But, he picks up his second foul of the game on the other end; Mitch Johnson challenges.

9:20 p.m.: Nothing is coming easy for the Knicks, with San Antonio’s defense playing at an elite level.

Two Harper free throws make it 28-13.

9:17 p.m.: Wembanyama is dominating at the rim, with five blocks just a quarter in.

End of the first quarter: Spurs 23, Knicks 13

9:11 p.m.: At the end of the first, San Antonio leads by 10, but the story is the Spurs defense.

The Knicks had just 13 points in the first, shooting 4-for-22 from the field. 

9:09 p.m.: With the Knicks down, Brunson nails a three right over a defender. 

New York has been ice cold in the first half, shooting 4-for-21 from the field.

9:02 p.m.: For the fifth straight game, the Spurs have a double digit lead in the first quarter.

San Antonio leads 18-8, with New Yrok struggling to score.

9:00 p.m.: Harper is off to a great start, with seven of San Antonio’s 15 points.

The rookie has been one of the best players this finals.

8:59 p.m.: With 4:51 remaining in the first, the Spurs lead 13-8.

No point has been easy in this game.

8:53 p.m.: Rookie Dylan Harper is on the board. He makes the Spurs’ first three of the night to put them up six.

Then, on the other night, Anunoby responds.

8:49 p.m.: Wembanyama and the Spurs have three blocks in the game four minutes in.

It’s 5-4 New York early on.

8:48 p.m.: The first points of the game come from Wembanyama and Brunson.

First, Wemby dunks the ball over a few defenders then on the other end Brunson hits a three.

8:47 p.m.: Both teams are yet to score almost two minutes in.

San Antonio and New York have been two of the best defensive teams in the league all season, and it won’t change tonight.

8:44 p.m.: The NBA Finals is underway.
