Kinksy pens new deal as Tottenham reportedly strike £85m Fernandes deal

Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky has penned a new deal with Spurs, who have supposedly struck an £85m deal to sign Mateus Fernandes.

Kinsky established himself as Spurs’ first-choice goalkeeper under Roberto De Zerbi last season.

The 23-year-old looked to have lost all confidence when he had a shocker against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, making numerous errors before being subbed off by Igor Tudor after 17 minutes.

But Tudor’s successor, De Zerbi, put his faith in Kinsky, who repaid him with some solid displays towards the end of the term as Spurs stayed up on the final day.

He made a stunning save to preserve a point against Leeds United and then also pulled off a fine stop to deny Everton an equaliser in the last game of the Premier League season.

Kinsky, who joined Spurs in January 2025, has now signed fresh terms.

Spurs have been active in the transfer market so far, bringing in Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka on free transfers.

They have purchased Netherlands defender Jan Paul van Hecke for £52m from Brighton, and on Tuesday, reports emerged claiming Spurs have seen off competition from Manchester United to buy midfielder Fernandes from West Ham for a huge fee.

Fernandes played in 38 games for West Ham in all competitions last season, scoring four goals and providing four assists, creating 42 chances.

He won 214 of 384 duels, and in the Premier League, only four players made more tackles than Fernandes’ 103.
