Khusanov Gets 8, Donnarumma With 5 | Manchester City Players Rated In Lackluster Loss Vs Aston Villa

· · 2 min read

Manchester City faced off against Aston Villa at Villa Park earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result on the road in the Premier League. The Mancunian club made a slow start to the game and conceded the opening goal in the sixth minute when Nicolas Jackson found the back of the net. Enzo Maresca’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Erling Haaland equalised for the visitors with a good header in the 52nd minute. However, Jackson scored again for the Villans just eight minutes later as Man City crashed to a lackluster 2-1 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Manchester City player fared during the clash against Aston Villa.

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma – 5/10

He failed to make a save in the game and should have done better to prevent Jackson’s second goal.

RB: Abdukodir Khusanov – 8/10

Khusanov performed his defensive duties well and was lively going forward.

CB: Ruben Dias – 6.5/10

He did his fair share of defending, but it was not enough today.

CB: Marc Guehi  – 6/10

Guehi made a costly error at the back and was replaced at half-time.

LB: Josko Gvardiol – 7/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field.

CM: Elliot Anderson – 6.5/10

Anderson worked hard on both halves and was tidy with his ball distribution.

CM: Enzo Fernandez – 6.5/10

He failed to protect his backline but made two key chances in the final third.

RW: Iliman Ndiaye – 7/10

Ndiaye caused a few headaches for his marker and managed to earn an assist for setting up Haaland’s goal.

CAM: Rayan Cherki – 6/10

He managed to shine at times but lacked the cutting edge in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

LW: Jeremy Doku – 7.5/10

Doku made a lot of dangerous runs with the ball but there was no goal for him.

ST: Erling Haaland – 7.5/10

He did well to score the equaliser in the 52nd minute. However, Haaland struggled to be a threat, otherwise.

CAM: Phil Foden – 6/10

He made one decent chance in the final third.

CM: Rico Lewis – 6/10

Lewis struggled to get into the flow of the game.

RW: Ryan McAidoo – 7/10

He made a few promising runs with the ball.
