Kennebunk Free Library 5K returns July 10 with community lawn party
KENNEBUNK — Kennebunk Free Library will host its 29th annual KFL 5K & Community Lawn Party on Friday, July 10, at 6 p.m., inviting runners, walkers and families to take part in an evening race that supports free library programming, including the Summer Reading Program. Preregistration is open through July 8.
The USATF‑certified course begins and ends in the library parking lot, winding through neighborhood streets and into the trails of Hope Cemetery & Woods. Awards will be given to top male and female finishers across eight age groups.
After the race, participants and spectators can gather on the library lawn for live music from Wildes District, food from Crotux Catering/Garden Street Bowl, and beer from Federal Jack’s. Organizers describe the event as a community celebration as much as a race.
This year’s event is supported by numerous local sponsors, including event sponsor Weirs Motors; auction diamond sponsor Kennebunk Savings Bank; and diamond sponsors Appliance Advantage & Aspire Home, Benchmark Construction, Garden Street Bowl/Crotux Catering, Maine Classic Car Museum, Pawfections Pet Salon and Webhannet Charitable Foundation. Additional sponsors include B’s Roofing & Construction LLC, George Burr and Son Inc., Kennebunk Outfitters, M&T Charitable Foundation, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management – Ethan Ladd, CFP, and Yin‑Yang Veterinary Care.
Next year marks the 30th anniversary of the KFL 5K, and organizers are inviting past participants to share photos or memories at kfl@kennebunklibrary.org.
Registration and event details are available at raceroster.com/events/2026/115855/kennebunk-free-library-29th-edition-5k or kennebunklibrary.org. The event is free to attend; same‑day registration will be offered at a higher price.
