The daily grind of training camp is beginning to take its toll on the New Orleans Saints. Just one guy has gone down with a season-ending injury after a week of practices — defensive tackle Bryan Bresee, their top player at the position — but as head coach Kellen Moore said after practice, “some bumps and bruises” are expected after a couple of padded practices with full contact.
That group includes running back Kendre Miller (back), defensive tackles Christen Miller (toe) and Keeshawn Silver (calf), as well as offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright (shoulder). Wide receiver Chris Olave was escorted by a trainer into one of the cooling trailers late in practice, but he isn’t dealing with a specific injury. Kendre Miller, who returned from a season-ending ACL tear in 2025 and was limited in recent years, faces more scrutiny than others. But Moore isn’t sweating it.
“He had a little bit of a back (issue) these last few days he’ll be okay. Nothing worrisome. Just something to keep an eye on,” Moore said after practice. When asked about Miller’s injury history raising concerns, he replied, “I’m not worried. Kendre is, guys have things that just come up. We’re going to continue to build these guys the right way.”
For now, it doesn’t seem like any of these injuries are serious or going to cause players to miss much time. Joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars is still a week away and the preseason games kick off right after. But we’ll be keeping an eye out for injuries as the intensity picks up at practice.
