Kebbi will not surrender to bandits- Gov Idris vows

The Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris, has vowed that the government and the people of the state will not surrender to bandit attacks but tackle their menace with deserved efforts in a renewed battle to ward them off. 

At an emergency security meeting he convened to finetune the state’s security architecture, Governor Idris vowed that the criminals would be crushed out of the state very soon.

The meeting, held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, aimed to strengthen coordinated efforts to address emerging security challenges and implement lasting solutions.

Governor Idris expressed deep concern over the recent attacks in some parts of the state and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to doing everything possible to curb insecurity and ensure that every resident “sleeps with both eyes closed.”

“My administration will not tolerate or spare anyone found to be an informant. Anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law, and justice will be served,” he said.

While commending security agencies operating in the state, the governor noted that their efforts have made a significant impact in maintaining peace and harmony.

“I urge all residents to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible information. People should not withhold information; they should share it promptly,” he added.

The position of the governor against the terror attacks was contained in a statement issued and made available to the media by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Ahmed Idris.
