Kansas State football lands top in-state 2027 prospect, 4-star athlete

MANHATTAN — The top 2027 prospect in Kansas has committed to being a Wildcat.

Cooper Ohnmacht, of Great Bend, announced his pledge to Collin Klein and Kansas State football on Sunday, June 7, via social media. He’s a consensus four-star athlete who picked K-State over the likes of Wisconsin, Penn State, Kansas and others.

Listed at 6-foot, 185 pounds, Ohnmacht plays both wide receiver and safety. This past season, he caught 52 passes for 755 yards and eight touchdowns, while also intercepting five passes on the defensive side, housing two for touchdowns. His commitment comes after making his official visit to Manhattan from June 19-21.
