A Kano State High Court has issued an interim order restraining Muhammad Samir Rufa’i Sani Hanga from publishing or sharing alleged defamatory statements about Isa Ado Maidoya on Facebook and other social media platforms.
Justice Jamilu Shehu Suleman granted the order after hearing an ex parte application filed by Maidoya’s lawyer on July 3, 2026. The application was supported by a 21-paragraph affidavit and attached exhibits.
Hanga, the defendant in the suit, is the son of Senator Rufa’i Sani Hanga, who represents Kano Municipal Senatorial District in the Senate.
The court directed Hanga, his agents, associates and anyone acting on his behalf to stop making further online publications concerning Maidoya pending the hearing and determination of the substantive motion.
According to the court, the order followed submissions by the applicant’s counsel, Barrister Faruk Muhammad.
“The defendant, his agents, associates, or any persons acting on his behalf, are restrained from further online publications concerning the applicant until the substantive motion is determined,” the court ordered.
The case, filed as Suit No. K/650/2026, has been adjourned until July 30, 2026, for mention.
