The rescue operation was conducted at about 4 pm on September 16, 2026, following intelligence on the movement of the kidnappers and their victims.

According to security sources, troops conducted a search operation around Tayu High Grounds, Tayu Village and adjoining areas of Sanga LGA in an effort to locate the abducted mother and child.
