Randal Kolo Muani insisted he is “very comfortable playing with any team-mate” as he prepares to start alongside Nick Woltemade for Juventus against Rennes.
Both strikers joined the Bianconeri this summer, with Kolo Muani securing a permanent move from Paris Saint-Germain, while Woltemade joined on a season-long loan from Newcastle United.
Kolo Muani has scored three times this season to Woltemade’s two goals, though they both netted in a 2-1 win over Celta Vigo last time out in the Europa League.
Woltemade has scored in both games for Juventus in the Europa League this season; only two players have netted in their first three appearances for the club in major European competition: Darko Kovacevic in 1999 and Roberto Baggio in 1990.
After the win over Celta, Woltemade stated his desire to start alongside Kolo Muani, which did not happen in their 3-0 defeat to Lazio on the weekend.
However, ahead of their Europa League match-up with Rennes, Spalletti confirmed both strikers will start on Thursday.
“In football, it’s important that the coach trusts you. The coach gives me valuable advice to keep going beyond my limits,” said Kolo Muani.

“I’m very comfortable playing with any team-mate. In training, we work on what the coach asks us to do, but we know it’s then up to us to put it into practice, and we also have the freedom to take responsibility.”
Juve have won their last four home matches in major European competition, scoring 12 goals and conceding two. They last had a longer home winning run between November 2020 and December 2021 (six).
The Bianconeri and Rennes previously met in the 1999 UEFA Intertoto Cup final, with the Italian side winning 4-2 on aggregate (2-0 home, 2-2 away).
“Rennes will come here looking to win,” added Kolo Muani.
“We won our first two matches, and we’ll try to win the third as well. Of course, I hope that performing well here will also help me return to the national team.”
