Justin McBride’s father addresses son’s extended absence at Kentucky

The Kentucky Wildcats have been spending a lot of time together, as they recently wrapped up a trip to Las Vegas. As pictures were posted from the trip, one player’s absence had BBN talking on social media, but there’s no reason to worry.

JMU transfer Justin McBride wasn’t in a few of the group shots of the Wildcats as they hung out at the Sphere and the Las Vegas Strip. He also wasn’t seen with the team as they scrimmaged La Familia ahead of their first game in the TBT Tournament.

As there was no official word regarding McBride’s attendance, BBN was throwing their takes up on social media, but they were staying logical, as always.

KSR broke the news last week that McBride was dealing with an illness that kept him away from the team for a few days, starting Wednesday of last week. McBride’s father took to social media to confirm this and put Wildcats fans’ hearts at rest.

“Wow wow my son has been under the weather for the past week, and he was in Vegas.” Regis McBride said in a Facebook comment. He ended the comment with “Summer flu bug; he is fine. With my Aaron Rodgers voice R E L A X.”

Sounds like McBride is getting healthy as he prepares for his upcoming season in Lexington. His veteran presence, abilities on the court, and high IQ will play a huge role in his fourth college season.
