Josh Allen didn’t need to be in Buffalo to hear the MVP chants.

They came through loud enough on the ESPN broadcast Monday night.

The Buffalo Bills came out of the two-minute warning in overtime preparing for Tyler Bass’ game-winning field goal when chants of “M-V-P” for Allen could be heard from the crowd.

Buffalo was about 2,600 miles from home, playing in the Rams‘ stadium.

Bass made the 45-yard field goal with 1:55 remaining to give Buffalo a 37-34 victory. It was unfamiliar territory for Allen, who began his career 0-7 in regular-season and playoff overtime games.

But he ended the night in a familiar spot.

He is once again the betting favorite to win NFL MVP.

DraftKings moved Allen to +250 after Monday night’s win, ahead of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy at +300. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is third at +600.

Purdy’s stay atop the odds lasted barely more than a day.

Purdy moved to +280 after leading San Francisco to 5-0 Sunday. It was the first time all season Allen had not been the MVP favorite.

Allen answered Monday against the player who succeeded him as MVP.

The game featured the NFL’s last two MVP winners: Allen, who won the award for the 2024 season, and Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who won it last season.

Allen completed 12 of 19 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown and rushed 10 times for 121 yards and another score. His 331 total yards helped Buffalo improve to 4-1.

Stafford completed 40 of 54 passes for 383 yards and three touchdowns.

Allen also delivered when Buffalo needed him most in overtime.

In a battle of the last two MVP’s, it’s Josh Allen who heard MVP chants from the traveling #BillsMafia at SoFi Stadium and walks off the winner of an overtime thriller.

After Greg Rousseau blocked a potential game-winning Rams field goal, Allen ran for 19 yards and then 13 more on consecutive plays to move Buffalo to the Los Angeles 27-yard line.

Two plays later, the Bills came out of the two-minute warning with Bass heading onto the field.

That’s when the MVP chants started.

They continued after the game as Allen walked over to Bills fans gathered in the lower level, waved to the crowd and tossed his hat to a young fan.
