Jose Mourinho remains convinced Vinicius Junior can rediscover his Real Madrid form

Despite being one of the biggest stars in this Real Madrid team, Vinicius Junior continues to underwhelm with his performances. The Brazilian has not been able to find his stride a month into this season, and concerns about his performance are increasing with every passing match.

His performance against Atletico Madrid, a club against which he has played some of his best matches in a Real Madrid shirt, in the first derby of the season was particularly worrying. He played only 54 minutes in this game, and was completely invisible during those 54 minutes, completing only one dribble, eight passes, two shots (both off-target), and only 22 touches.

However, according to Diario AS, Jose Mourinho is still convinced that he will be able to get Vinicius back to his best level, and for the Portuguese coach, there is no “Vinicius case”. The main concern for the new Real Madrid coach is to provide the Brazilian with the right tools that will allow him to return to his best form.

The relationship between the coach and the player is very good, and Mourinho believes that Vinicius is a player who can decide games on his own. He recently made this clear in some of his press conferences. Meanwhile, the Portuguese coach has already unlocked another side of the Brazilian’s game, the one he showed against Inter Milan with his nine recoveries.

Thus, despite the difficulties that this start to the new season has brought, Jose Mourinho still has full confidence in Vinicius Junior. For now, the Brazilian is away for national team duty, and will be working with another coach who has brought out the best in him, Carlo Ancelotti, and hopefully, this time away from the club will help the forward clear up his mind, and to be in a better mental state when he returns to Real Madrid in October.
