Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor may be the biggest prize with the NFL trade deadline looming.

The Colts have already traded team leaders Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner, who are both in the final season of their current contract. Taylor signed an extension through 2028 in the offseason, and the Colts believe they could receive ample draft capital in return.

Taylor has rushed for 610 yards, 4.1 per carry, with 8 touchdowns and 5 carries of at least 20 yards. He has topped 90 yards in five games this season, but got only 8 carries for 23 yards in Week 8.

Here are the team most reported to be pursuing Taylor, and their current running back situation.

When is the NFL trade deadline

Jonathan Taylor trade: What are potential Jonathan Taylor trade destinations?

New York Giants (4-2-1, leading the NFC East)

Cam Skattebo has 418 rushing yards, 4.3 per carry, 2 TDs, and has dealt with hamstring issues. The second-year player was benched for one game. The Giants are in the middle of the pack in run usage and output. Taylor could strengthen New York’s division hopes.

Green Bay Packers (5-3, last in NFC North)

Green Bay has the NFL’s last-ranked rushing game, gaining 60.6 yards per game. Josh Jacobs has appeared in two games (75 yards, 2.3 per carry, 1 TD) after being on the commissioner’s exempt list due to legal issues. MarShawn Lloyd and Kaleb Johnson have struggled. Taylor could offer some hope.

Cincinnati Bengals (5-2, second in AFC North)

Chase Brown leads Cincinnati with 340 rushing yards, 3.6 per carry with 1 TD. With Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in the lineup, the Bengals don’t bother running the ball much, ranking near the bottom of most categories. Taylor could take some pressure off the passing game.

Denver Broncos (6-2, leading AFC West)

J.K. Dobbins has 306 rushing yards, 3.3 per carry and 3 TDs for a moribund rushing game (19th in usage, 26th in output at 92.6 yards per game). Only quarterback Bo Nix has a carry of more than 20 yards this season. Taylor could offer an explosive option.

Minnesota Vikings (6-1, leading NFC North)

Aaron Jones Sr. has 458 rushing yards, 4.2 per carry and 2 TDs, though he left the Week 7 game against the Colts and had just 5 carries in Week 8. Quarterback Kyler Murray is next at 167 yards in an average run attack. Taylor could right the ship.

Seattle Seahawks (4-4, tied for second in NFC West)

The loss of Kenneth Walker has hurt the Super Bowl champs. Emanuel Wilson has 403 rushing yards, 3.6 per carry, and 3 TDs. Rookie Jadarian Price has missed time with injuries and has yet make an impact, making life harder on quarterback Sam Darnold. Taylor’s presence could help Seattle be more well-rounded.
