The cast of Netflix’s The Beast In Me season 2 just landed a beloved star.
Netflix officially confirmed that John Goodman will be joining the lineup for the upcoming second season of its hit thriller. The Emmy Award-winning actor will be featured alongside returning star Claire Danes, who is reprising her role as Aggie Wiggs. According to the streaming platform, Goodman will portray Jack, the father of Danes’ character.
Although Netflix has confirmed who he will play, the extent of his involvement in the series has not been revealed at the time of this article’s publication. However, regardless of how big his role is, his presence will give Aggie someone else to develop a relationship with, as most of her interactions were with her now-deceased neighbor in Beast in Me season 1.
The first chapter of Beast in Me followed Aggie, a writer who got dragged into a disturbing case involving her rich neighbor, Nile Jarvis, who was portrayed by Matthew Rhys. Their tense relationship was the main focus of a decent chunk of the Netflix thriller’s debut season. Since the character ultimately died in prison, the series needs a new antagonist, and Goodman might be the one to fill that role.
Danes previously confirmed that the second season will continue following Aggie, although Netflix has not disclosed what she will encounter next. The announcement of Goodman’s character could potentially allow the series to explore another aspect of her personal life. However, the nature of their relationship and whether Jack will be an antagonist currently remains unknown.
