Jets at Bears: 5 storylines to watch for ahead of Week 4

The New York Jets and Chicago Bears will continue their 2026 NFL regular season schedules against each other on Sunday when the two teams do battle at Solider Field in Week 4.

Like there will be every week, there are plenty of expected headlines that will pop up during the days leading up to this one between the Jets (1-2) and Bears (2-1). Some obvious, others not so much.

With that, here are Jets Wire’s five storylines to watch for ahead of Jets at Bears:

Similar to ask week, we have an Aaron Glenn connection.

It’s not the same as the Jets’ head coach returning to face the Detroit Lions, where he last coached before taking the job in New York… but Chicago’s head coach is Ben Johnson.

While Glenn was the defensive coordinator in Detroit, Johnson was the offensive coordinator. Glenn will be asked about seeing his former co-worker this week.

Running back Breece Hall has a quad injury. Per reports, he is expected to have a “week-to-week” injury status. Glenn and the Jets will have to confirm that, plus the coach will be asked what the plan is to replace him.

While the Jets know they’ll face the Bears, they do not know what quarterback will line up against them. With starting quarterback Caleb Williams (hamstring) out, Tyson Bagent is the backup.

However, he did not start in Week 3. Case Keenum did, and impressed in a “Monday Night Football” win against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Jets defense will be asked about not knowing which quarterback they will face… but all signs do point to Keenum.

During the Jets’ loss to the Lions last week, it was the defense the was the team’s Achilles heel. From Glenn to players on the roster, the Jets are going to be asked about bouncing back after allowing 31 points in Week 3’s loss.

Bubbling under the surface is a few worries about the offensive line. Olu Fashanu is the one under the microscope now but if the entire unit does not improve soon, questions will become bolder and louder.
