The victory was their third in succession, having lost their opening two games to Malaysia and Guernsey.

The 2-0 victory added to previous wins over Niue and Malta as Jersey finished third in their pool behind group winners Malaysia and second-placed Guernsey.

De Sousa – playing at his fifth Commonwealth Games – and Davies raced into a 7-0 lead after the first three ends of the opening set.

Welsh duo Daniel Salmon and Ross Owen won each of the final two ends by a shot but the islanders took the set 7-2.

It was a similarly dominant display from the Jersey duo in the second set as they led 6-0 after four ends before going on to win it 6-1.

The duo were the final Jersey competitors to see action at the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

The island won its first Commonwealth medals in 36 years when swimmer Filip Nowacki took gold in the 200m breaststroke on Tuesday, having won silver in the 100m breaststroke last Saturday.
