Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys made one of the biggest moves of the offseason on Sunday by signing veteran pass rusher Von Miller. Miller had remained in contact with Dallas throughout the offseason and has long expressed his desire to wear the iconic star on his helmet.

The Cowboys are continuing to focus on strengthening their roster while keeping an eye on the future. Even after adding Miller, the front office seems intent on making more additions before the regular season begins.

One position that still stands out as a concern is cornerback. Cobie Durant has impressed throughout training camp, while rookie Shavon Revel continues to develop, but Dallas knows it will need more depth over the course of a long season. 

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, veteran cornerback Adoree’ Jackson is among the players Jones’ program has been monitoring.

“In addition to Von Miller, the Cowboys have explored cornerback help via free agency,” Fowler wrote. “One name to watch is Adoree Jackson, who was with DC Christian Parker in Philadelphia. Jackson has interest from a few teams, though.”

Jackson and Parker worked together in Philadelphia when Parker coached the Eagles‘ defensive backs. Jackson’s experience in multiple defensive systems, including the hybrid scheme Parker now employs in Dallas, adds to his appeal. The Cowboys also hosted Jackson for a free-agent visit at The Star before training camp.

Last season, Jackson played in 14 games and started 10 for the Eagles, recording 55 tackles, 11 passes defended, and one interception. He proved his caliber on the outside and proved he can still be an effective contributor when healthy.

Throughout Jackson’s NFL career, he has totaled 459 tackles. If Dallas ultimately signs him, the Cowboys would become the fourth team of his career, following previous stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, and New York Giants.
