Jefferson edges Guilford to forge a tie for the NIC-10 soccer lead

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — In one of the most anticipated boys soccer matches of this season, the Jefferson J-Hawks edged the Guilford Vikings 1-0 Tuesday afternoon at Wyeth Stadium.

The only goal was scored late in the first half by the J-Hawks’ Eduardo Mendoza. Jefferson goalkeeper Ben Garcia made that one goal lead standup. He played a strong game turning away multiple Guilford shots.
