Jalen Hurts, A.J. Brown share a moment after Eagles-Patriots practice

On Wednesday, A.J. Brown was asked if he’s talked to Jalen Hurts since being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots.

Brown’s one word answer: “No.”

On Thursday, the two caught up for a brief moment following Thursday’s joint training camp practice. Here’s video of the interaction:

If you’re interested in the explicit details, Brown walked down the hill from the main practice fields on his way towards the Patriots’ facility (the New Balance Athletics Center). I originally thought he might just head into the building but he instead jogged up to Hurts, who had been working on throwing to some of the Eagles’ receivers, from behind the quarterback.

The two dapped each other up and shared some smiles and words for somewhere around 45 seconds (rough estimate) before Brown made his way inside.

This interaction happened not too long before Hurts and the rest of the Eagles left this field to get back on their buses and head back to their hotel. So, it was basically the last chance for these two to interact in front of the media.

As I was filming video of Hurts and Brown, Jordan Mailata (waiting for his turn to do post-practice media availability at the podium) walked up and quipped that these pictures/videos will do good numbers on social media. He also added “See? It’s all love.”

While it’s pretty clear that Hurts and Brown don’t have the same close relationship they once did, it’s also not like they’re mortal enemies who can’t possibly tolerate each other at all. I think Eagles fans should be able to enjoy seeing these two Super Bowl LIX champions share a moment like this.

In any case, entering this week, some were wondering if Hurts and Brown would interact. And now we know they did.
