Jaguars Liam Coen evaluates Travon Walker's play during minicamp

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ three-day minicamp has concluded, and head coach Liam Coen was very pleased with what he saw from defensive end Travon Walker.

“Travon Walker showed up in a big way, especially when we got into some competitive situations, doing what I challenged him with, which was to dominate,” Coen said, via ESPN. “Through the first two days of minicamp he didn’t lose many reps, so I think we got better.”

During Coen’s two stints with the LA Rams as an offensive coach, he saw the game-wrecking ability of Aaron Donald up close and on a daily basis. In his end-of-season meeting with Walker, which lasted almost two hours, Coen told Walker that he wants to have to remove him from practice because the offense is unable to get anything accomplished with him on the field.

Walker has shown during his time with the Jaguars that he can be quite disruptive. During each of the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Walker recorded 10-plus sacks and ranked in the top 25 among his position group in quarterback pressures, according to PFF.

Along with his pass rush production, Walker brings a well-rounded skill set to the Jaguars‘ defensive front, holding up very well against the run while also adding versatility to this unit.
