‘It doesn’t mean it’s over’ – Jalen Brunson reveals his mindset heading into new season after Knicks title

Jalen Brunson’s life has changed drastically since becoming an NBA champion and Finals MVP with the New York Knicks.

Brunson leading the Knicks to their first title in 53 years is arguably one of the greatest sporting feats of the 21st century.

Now, the point guard might be the most popular person in New York and has suddenly become a global superstar.

No one would blame Brunson for having an inflated ego after such an incredible season, but he insists his mindset remains the same.

Jalen Brunson is already looking beyond the Knicks’ championship

Jalen Brunson has explained that his mindset will not be any different despite entering next season as an NBA champion.

“[It] hasn’t,” Brunson told the New York Post at his charity golf day. “That wouldn’t do it. It will be the same.

“It’s something that I get to walk around with and think about when I need to give myself a little confidence, or whatever, just in certain situations.

“But my approach and everything has to be the same. Just because I’ve reached the mountaintop of winning an NBA championship doesn’t mean that it’s over with.

“I feel like there’s still a lot more to do and a lot more that I can prove. It’s 100 percent always going to be in the mind; I’m just not going to let it define me.”

Brunson’s comments suggest that New York Knicks fans can look forward to another great season.

The 29-year-old still feeling like he has more to prove can only be a good thing for the Knicks’ chances of winning back-to-back titles.

Given that complacency is not an issue, it will take a special performance from another team to eliminate the Knicks from the playoffs.
