Is Jonathan Greenard playing vs. Cowboys? Latest on Eagles edge rusher

Jonathan Greenard says his availability against the Dallas Cowboys will come down to a game-time decision as the Eagles outside linebacker works through an ankle injury. Greenard made that assessment Saturday, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, after missing part of Philadelphia’s final practice open to reporters and moments before he was listed as questionable.

What is Jonathan Greenard’s injury?

Greenard is dealing with an ankle injury. He was listed as limited Thursday, then as a nonparticipant Friday after an apparent setback. His comments Saturday left open the possibility of playing Monday, but a game-time decision doesn’t guarantee he will be available.

Why is Greenard’s status important?

The Eagles have multiple outside linebacker injury concerns. Nolan Smith remained sidelined with a concussion Saturday, while Jalyx Hunt and AJ Epenesa were listed as limited Friday.

Greenard’s availability would help Philadelphia distribute the workload against Dak Prescott, who threw two interceptions in each of Dallas’ past two games. Prescott totaled 574 passing yards over that span but needed 96 attempts to get there.

When will Greenard’s availability be confirmed?

If his status remains unresolved until game time, Monday’s inactive list will answer that question about 90 minutes before kickoff. The Eagles are attempting to end a four-game losing streak against a Dallas team that also enters the divisional matchup at 2-4.
