IndyCar postpones race at Nashville to Monday due to weather in 2026

The NTT IndyCar Series will not race at Nashville Superspeedway on Sunday. Due to inclement weather, IndyCar was forced to postpone the race at Nashville to Monday, July 20, at 3:00 p.m. ET on FOX. It is the first IndyCar postponement since the 2018 race at Barber Motorsports Park.

This was a very disappointing development for IndyCar, which had the FIFA World Cup on FOX ahead of them at Nashville. The event would have led into IndyCar, putting new eyes on the sport at one of its best tracks. Unfortunately, IndyCar didn’t have the weather on its side on Sunday.

Led by Kyle Kirkwood and Josef Newgarden, IndyCar will take the green flag at 3:00 p.m. for 225 laps. The sport shortened the race distance due to the excessive heat projected in Nashville on Monday. It will be a hot and grueling race, as IndyCar rips around Nashville on Monday afternoon.
