India head into the second Test match against Sri Lanka at Colombo with a 1-0 lead in the two-Test series thanks to an emphatic 165-run win in Galle.

The winning performance came about as a result of Devdutt Padikkal scoring his first Test century and Manav Suthar taking a match-winning 10-wicket haul.

While Sri Lanka put up some resistance with the ball, they could not sustain their efforts with the bat, being all out for 206 in pursuit of a target of 372 runs. While Suthar’s six wickets in the second innings was crucial, KL Rahul’s 82 in the first innings cannot be overlooked either.

Thanks to this performance, India’s WTC points percentage is now at 53.33% in fifth position on the table. Sri Lanka are at 33.33% in sixth place, making the Colombo Test important for both teams.

What time does Sri Lanka vs. India 2nd Test start?

The second Test between Sri Lanka and India will be played at Sinhalese Sports Cricket (SSC) Ground in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Play is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. local time (SLST), which translates to 10:00 a.m. IST on Sunday, August 23 for viewers in India.

Sri Lanka have made more changes, adding Kamil Mishara and Sahan Arachchige, with Arachchige replacing Ramesh Mendis, while Nishan Madushka and Dilshan Madushanka are dropped for the 2nd Test.

Kusal Mendis, Pathum Nissanka and Dinesh Chandimal are unavailable.

Sri Lanka predicted XI: Lahiru Udara, Kamil Mishara, Pasindu Sooriyabandara, Kamindu Mendis, Dhananjaya de Silva (c), Sahan Arachchige, Sonal Dinusha, Niroshan Dickwella (wk), Keshara Nuwantha, Prabath Jayasuriya, Asitha Fernando.

Devdutt Padikkal is expected to keep his No. 3 spot after his 167, while Sarfaraz Khan is likely to miss out again. The rest of the XI should remain unchanged.
