IMF: Nigerian Govt lacks transparent public expenditure system – Sam Amadi

Airing his own opinion, Amadi said, “To be magnanimous or fair, this government has an uncontrolled, unmanaged, not transparent and unaccountable public expenditure system.

“At the beginning of this government, the FCT minister went to the president and asked to be exempted from the normal due process procurement policies. That’s the first memo.

“Again, there are too many issues around fundamental breaches of process and fiscal accountability is first primarily process that expenditure are first budgeted for, tracked and reported.

“There is no guarantee to the prudence and integrity of Nigeria’s public expenditure.”
