I’m not running away from inherited challenges – Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has declared that he’s not running away from the challenges his administration inherited from his predecessor, the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.

Tinubu said since assuming office he has been working to turn the tide from the challenges he inherited, stressing that the economy has recovered and is now on a sound footing.

The President made the declaration during his meeting with Catholic bishops at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Tinubu, the days of Nigeria’s economy passing through what he termed dark tunnels are over.

Tinubu assured that his administration has armed security agents with the aim of defeating terrorism.

He said: “On security I go back to that, I just approved the expansion of the Nigerian Army and Armed Forces. I don’t run away from what I inherited, I inherited challenges and I’m I doing something about it? Yes, I can tell you that I’m doing something about it and there are resources to equip them, build new barracks, arm them and defeat terrorism.

“We all must fight terrorism together as a nation because we have that responsibility to our nation and I won’t deviation from our national anthem that diversity is the back bone of our prosperity and the future stability of this country.

“I can tell you that the country has been placed on a sound footing, the economy has recovered and the dark tunnel that we entered into when I came into power has changed. The spirit of the people and the dark tunnel that we have been passing through is now clear and the economy is now safe from bankruptcy.”
