Vermont Green FC men’s team advanced to the USL League Two final for the second straight year. This time the Green will not be playing in front of its rowdy home crowd, but instead are hitting the road for the second straight weekend to face the Flint City Bucks on Saturday, Aug 1. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. from Atwood Stadium.
The Green excelled last weekend on the road in Laredo, Texas dominating both Asheville City SC and the Laredo Heat in close to 100 degree temperatures. Vermont upset the host Laredo Heat with a 7-1 victory in the national semifinals behind Ryan Zellefrow’s hat trick. The Green’s six-goal margin of victory was the team’s biggest since a 10-1 victory over Boston City FC on June 20.
