Spread (BetMGM): Eagles by 4.5

This game will be won in the trenches. Here, the Eagles should have a huge advantage as their offensive line, led by RT Lane Johnson, is healthy. But the Commanders’ D-line, led by DT Daron Payne will test the Eagles’ interior. On the other side, the Commanders’ O-line will miss LT Laremy Tunsil, who’s on IR with a triceps injury.

Commanders’ keys to victory: What version of QB Jayden Daniels are the Eagles seeing? Daniels was the NFL’s top rookie in 2024 and led the Commanders to the NFC Championship game. But Daniels was banged up last season, playing in only seven games, and the Commanders flopped to a 5-12 finish. Daniels is healthy this season and has Stefon Diggs at WR to pair with Terry McLaurin. On defense, the Commanders are debuting first-round pick Sonny Styles at LB.

Eagles’ keys to victory: What will this new offense under offensive coordinator Sean Mannion look like? Ten of the 11 starters from last season return, including QB Jalen Hurts, RB Saquon Barkley and WR DeVonta Smith. But WR A.J. Brown was traded to New England, so the Eagles have to find a way to replace his 1,000-plus yards per season. The Eagles’ defense, led by DT Jalen Carter, is one of the NFL’ s best, and should keep the Eagles in just about every game.

Commanders WR Terry McLaurin vs. Eagles CB Quinyon Mitchell. This is one of Mitchell’s weekly tests against top receivers, and he and Riq Woolen will have their hands full against both McLaurin and Diggs. Mitchell was an All Pro last season and should be among the top CBs this season as well.

Eagles, 27-16
