The Kings sent the host St. Louis Battlehawks to their third straight semifinal defeat on Sunday, taking a 29-20 victory as Tanner Brown stole the show with a pair of four-point field goals, hitting from 60 and 63 yards, with the latter coming with less than five minutes left to seal the win. Chandler Rogers completed 12-of-20 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown while Ian Wheeler and James Robinson combined for 140 rushing yards on just 14 carries, each scoring once, with Wheeler’s 51-yard burst off right tackle giving Louisville a 25-20 lead early in the fourth quarter. The Defenders never trailed the top-seeded Orlando Storm on Sunday, taking a 28-22 victory after Orlando had beaten them in each of the final two games of the regular season. DC rolled up 405 yards of offense, including 172 on the ground, dominating possession while converting 10 of 16 third downs. Jason Bean threw for 233 yards and a touchdown while Abram Smith and Deon Jackson added scores on the ground. 

The Kings beat DC twice during the regular season, recording back-to-back wins in Weeks 7 and 8. Louisville won at DC 30-13 on May 9 before squeaking by with a 33-30 victory at home on May 16.
