The Houston Rockets have made some minor additions this offseason while bringing back a couple key role players from a season ago. Most notably, the Rockets added veteran point guard and former Defensive Player of the Year Award winner Marcus Smart. Houston’s front office also added shooting in the form of veteran marksman Bogdan Bogdanovic. Not only that, but former Wichita State point guard Fred VanVleet will be back after missing the entire 2025-26 season with an ACL injury.
For these reasons, the Rockets are tied with the Indiana Pacers for the 12th-best odds to win an NBA championship at +3000 according to BETMGM. The Rockets are the fifth-highest ranked team in the Western Conference, just ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers. As expected, the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs enter as the betting favorites at +260. Following the additions of LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, the Philadelphia 76ers round out the top three at +800.
