ORLANDO, Fla. – The Houston Dash fell behind early and couldn’t catch up in a 3-1 loss to the Orlando Pride on Sunday night at Inter.co Stadium.

Houston (7-5-11, 26 points) fell behind just 14 minutes into the game and the deficit only grew. The Pride (9-2-12, 29) doubled its lead by halftime and pushed it to 3-0 near the midpoint of the second half.

The Dash’s only goal came from Kiki Van Zanten in the 72nd minute, her fifth of the season, off an assist from Khyah Harper.

Orlando’s goal scorers were Leah Klenke, Barbara Banda and Haley McCutcheon.

The match was delayed 90-plus minutes because of inclement weather in the Orlando area.

The Dash return home Saturday to host Utah Royals FC for a 7:45 p.m. kickoff at Shell Energy Stadium.
