Tague Davis, the man who produced the greatest offensive season in the history of Louisville baseball in 2026, wants you to know that he isn’t going anywhere.

Despite plenty of rumors to the contrary, Davis has announced that he will return to U of L for his junior season.

Davis was the unquestioned brightest spot of an otherwise wildly disappointing season for the Cardinals in 2026. Despite getting just one postseason game (an ACC Tournament opening round loss to Pitt), Davis led the country in home runs, RBI and total bases. His 34 home runs set both a new school record and an ACC record.

For his efforts, Davis became just the second player to earn ACC Player of the Year honors.

Bringing back the best offensive player in the country for his (almost certainly) final season of college baseball is a huge first step when it comes to bouncing back from the most disappointing campaign of the Dan McDonnell era. Next up, fix the pitching woes that have plagued the Cards in pretty much every season since Covid abruptly halted the 2020 campaign.

Appreciate the loyalty Tague. Let’s ride.
