The Dallas Cowboys are setting their initial 53-man roster and have to be done with the cuts by 6 PM ET on August 30th. All the work done over the offseason – free agency, the draft, OTAs, minicamps, training camp, and three preseason games – will pay off with an initial 53-man roster.
We say initial 53-man roster because teams never stick with just that. Trades might happen before it, or after it. Teams will claim players who are eligible for waiver wire claims, and will try to sign free agent players who don’t have to go through waivers. There are a lot of things that go on during this time so we’ll be tracking the cuts and other news here, while we also have a practice squad tracker later when that time arrives.
