Hamas ready to advance Gaza Peace Deal, calls on US to pressure Israel

Hamas says it is prepared to move forward with the next stage of a US-backed plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza, while urging Washington to pressure Israel to implement the agreement.

A senior Hamas official, speaking anonymously to reporters, said the group and other Palestinian factions had informed mediators of their willingness to begin implementing the agreement and proceed to its second phase.

The official, however, said Hamas expects Israel to first approve the deal and begin fulfilling its own obligations under the agreement.

“Hamas is urging the US administration to exert pressure on Israel to compel it to abide by the agreement and move to the second phase,” the official stated.

The arrangement is based on the second phase of a broader Gaza peace framework presented by US President Donald Trump in September 2025.

Under the proposed agreement, Hamas would be required to disarm, while Israeli forces would withdraw from parts of the Gaza Strip currently under their control.

DAILY POST reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Tuesday that Israel had not agreed to the reported arrangement.

Netanyahu maintained that Israeli forces would remain in their positions until Hamas is completely disarmed.
