Hall pens long-term Newcastle contract

Newcastle United have secured the future of Lewis Hall, who has signed a long-term deal with the club.

Hall, who is a boyhood Newcastle fan, joined the Magpies from Chelsea in 2023.

He has played 107 times for Newcastle, providing eight assists and scoring three goals, while also creating 97 chances, as he has established himself as one of the most promising attacking full-backs in the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has earned England recognition, too, and he was linked with several of Newcastle’s domestic rivals over the summer, with Manchester United reportedly leading the interested parties.

However, Hall has now agreed to stay at Newcastle, who sold Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes over the course of the transfer window, but were determined to hold on to the left-back, whose new deal is reportedly five years in length.

“I’m absolutely delighted. It’s a really proud moment. It’s an absolute pleasure to play for this club and to represent the supporters. I know how much it means to them,” Hall told Newcastle’s website.

“The fanbase and the support we get here, whether it’s at St. James’ Park or away, it’s the best in the league in my opinion. To be able to bring joy to their faces, it’s a big thing for me.

“I obviously have a family connection with the club, which is incredibly important to us all. One of the main reasons I play is to make my family proud, and I know how much it means to them to watch me playing for Newcastle United.

“It’s a really good place to be. It’s really pleasing with how we’ve started the season, especially with the new Gaffer and coaching staff coming in, and I think we can go on to achieve really big things.”

Hall has already provided two assists this season, while creating eight chances, which leads the way for Newcastle.

The Magpies are unbeaten in 2026-27, drawing two of their opening league fixtures while winning the other (2-0 at Tottenham), and they have also beaten Millwall and West Brom in the EFL Cup.
