Gunmen attack NIPSS Kuru, kill two soldiers, police officer
Suspected gunmen attacked the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, on Monday night, killing two soldiers and a police officer.
In a statement, the Head of Public Affairs at the institute, Dr Osime Samuel, who confirmed the incident, said the victims were on duty at the staff quarters of the institution when the attack occurred.
“The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, wishes to inform the public that a security incident occurred in the vicinity of the Institute in the early hours of today,” the statement said.
It further said normal activities have continued as scheduled following the incident, adding that “there is currently no threat to the safety of participants, staff, residents, or facilities of the Institute.”
