Guadalajara is a team that honors its traditions at every level. Today, staying true to one of them, Chivas Femenil ran riot over Atlas in the Clásico Tapatío, securing a 4-0 victory that confirmed the rojiblancas are more alive than ever. Antonio Contreras’ side reached 12 points in Group B of the Liga Femenil, firmly establishing itself in the race for a spot in the liguilla.

What we saw at Estadio Jalisco was confirmation of what has happened in the last 14 editions of this rivalry: the Rebaño Sagrado taking command from the very beginning and overpowering their city neighbors play after play. Today, the effectiveness that Chiverío showed at the start of the tournament finally returned, striking early to take control of the match.

The individual spotlight belonged to Natalia Mauleón, who recorded 3 assists and also earned a penalty that helped shape the rojiblanca rout. And, as could only be expected, ‘Licha’ Cervantes bagged a brace against one of her favorite opponents.

Chivas Femenil will be back in action next Saturday, September 12, when they host Rayadas at Estadio AKRON for Matchday 7 of the Apertura 2026.

The goals

  • ‘La Reina’ crowned the first! In the 10th minute, a turnover in the opponent’s half allowed Mauleón to slip a pass through to Casarez, who rounded the goalkeeper inside the box and finished into an empty net.* What composure from Denise! In the 35th minute, Mauleón repeated the formula: she won the ball outside the box and played Castro into space, who calmly finished first time toward the near post as the goalkeeper came off her line.* ‘La Depredadora’ from the spot! In the 73rd minute, Alicia Cervantes converted the penalty earned by Natalia Mauleón.* Cervantes’ brace! Following another assist from Mauleón, ‘Licha’ finished across goal as the goalkeeper closed her down: off the post and in.

The dangerous chances

  • In the 31st minute, Denise collected a loose ball at the edge of the box, feinted and fired with her left foot, but a defensive intervention prevented her from scoring.* The goal that almost put Guadalajara further ahead! In the 41st minute, Joseline Montoya tried to catch the goalkeeper off guard with a cross-shot and hit the post. The rebound fell toward the edge of the box, where Mauleón struck it first time with her right foot, but missed by just inches.* In the 53rd minute, Mauleón turned at the edge of the box, escaped her marker and fired a left-footed shot that went just wide.* In the 75th minute, ‘Licha’ Cervantes tried her luck from a set piece with a powerful effort aimed for the top corner, but it curled just wide.
