The Philadelphia Phillies and Minnesota Twins will took to the field Thursday night in Dyersville, Iowa, but the spotlight wasn’t only on the players.

It was also on the field itself. It’s a ballpark built by a Montgomery County landscaping crew.

The stadium sits on the same site where the classic 1989 movie “Field of Dreams,” starring Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones, was filmed.

BrightView, a landscaping company based in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, has been responsible for building and maintaining the field since the stadium’s construction in 2019.

Brightview Sports president Murray Cook said the setting remains one of the most memorable parts of the project.

“That’s my favorite part about the whole building of these fields and these unique places around the world, this one being in a cornfield. It’s seeing people come out and see it, especially the players come out and see it. They give you the ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ about it. It’s really cool,” he said.

Cook said a 12-man crew from Blue Bell is in Iowa to ensure the bluegrass was ready for an epic night of baseball.

Kyle Schwarber smashed two home runs into the corn behind right field as the Phillies went on beat the Twins 7-1.
