Gov Idris convenes emergency security meeting over bandit attacks in Kebbi

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, on Friday convened an emergency security meeting in response to recent bandit attacks in parts of the state.
The meeting, held at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, brought together security stakeholders to review the security situation and strengthen strategies aimed at addressing emerging threats across affected communities.

Speaking during the meeting, the governor expressed concern over the recent attacks and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity and protecting lives and property.

Idris said the state government would continue working closely with security agencies to curb criminal activities and restore confidence among residents.

“My administration will not tolerate or spare anyone found to be an informant. Anyone found culpable will face the full weight of the law, and justice will be served,” he said.

The governor also commended security agencies for their efforts in maintaining peace in the state despite ongoing security challenges.

He urged residents to support security operatives with timely and credible information that could aid efforts to combat banditry and other crimes.

“People should not withhold information; they should share it promptly,” he added.

The meeting comes amid growing concerns over bandit activities in some parts of Kebbi State and renewed calls for stronger measures to improve security in rural communities.
