Morgan Gibbs-White says he already has his eye on an England call-up for Euro 2028 after getting back into the squad for the Nations League.
The Nottingham Forest captain was a surprise omission from the Three Lions’ World Cup squad, after registering 25 goal involvements in all competitions in 2025-26 (18 goals, seven assists).
He both scored and assisted more than any other Forest player, while only eight Premier League players bettered his goal involvements tally last term.
And no player has scored more Premier League goals in 2026 than Nottingham Forest attacker Gibbs-White (13, level with Erling Haaland).
Gibbs-White was also initially left out of Thomas Tuchel’s squad for their first Nations League matches, but he was drafted in as a late replacement for the injured Cole Palmer.
He continues to wait for his first England start, having earned all eight of his caps from the bench, but that has not stopped him from setting a target to feature at the next major tournament.
“Even playing in the Nations League, it’s an honour to put on the shirt,” Gibbs-White said.
“But that is the goal, you know, a home Euros. The only thing we have in our mindset is to win it.”

England have an abundance of talent at the top of the pitch, with Gibbs-White facing a battle to nail down a place in behind the striker.
Asked if he was fighting in the most crowded and competitive area of the squad, he said: “Definitely, if you look at the positions that I play in.
“You’ve got Morgan Rogers, Jude Bellingham, me, Cole Palmer, Eberechi Eze, Anthony Gordon if you want to put it on the left, so you look at those names, and it’s stacked.
“But all I can do is just focus on myself and hopefully putting performances in at club level puts me in a good space.”
England are second in Group A3 in the Nations League after two games, with Croatia up next for Tuchel’s side on Saturday.
